TACTICAL

Daniel H.

While going to the barber shop I expect to be able to relax and reflect on my day while being pleasantly handled by a professional barber.

The atmosphere plays a huge role as it definitely improves the impression of a well made haircut. I view being offered / served a beverage as a must have, like alkohol, coffee or a glass of water. Tidyness is another huge factor, as being served a smelly towel can ruin the whole experience and discourage further visits. I strongly value the manly aspect of barber shops, therefore i prefer the staff to be predominantly male. The interior decoration, as well as the music and smell should be on par.

The more experience a barber has the better, I often find myself impressed by stylish haircuts some of the workers have, which leaves me with an impression of becoming a good looking haircut myself. I would prefer not to be cut by an intern, unless it is just about small adjustments.

The service offered shouls be for adult men only, as children would not fit into my ideal image of an manly experience. I expect to look good and feel good while being cut as well as after leaving the shop.

When searching for a new barber I direct myself to the website Booksy.com, as they have all the shops listed out together with helpful reviews of previous customets, which help me make the ultimate choice. Accesibility and a fair price also play an important role.

The majority of shops do not have their own website, which i don’t necessarily view as a downsite, although I would value a way to comfortably book a visit together with choosing my favourite barber and time.

Strengths

Minimalistic approach, lists only the important stuff on their homepage.

Weaknesses

Bad pop-up booking experience, button not matching

Content

Serious approach to the brand and work they do, makes them look profesional and matches their personality

Design

Minimalistic design, takes you where you want to be and what you want to do.

UX

Very good user flow, only the necessities listed. The map may be too little for some users.

Opportunities

Our website could try and fit in only the crucial information, which would make it seem serios and profesional.

Very fancy and ‘malny’ approach which suits the barber shop theme

The logo seems not to be centered on the website, missing call to action

The typography does not fully match the impression of vintage style, which would make the whole website more cohesive if they did

The important information is listed out on the home page, and other than the missing CTA on top its very good and intuitive to navigate

A vintage approach really matches the brands identity, while showcasing more than just the basic on a modern and unique website. This could make our company seem more credible to clients who look for a ‘manly’ place

Very high quality of icons and pictures that suit the brands personality

Multiple calls to action, big map and customer opinions.

Feels ‘Blocky’

Boring design, bad quality logo on top, lack of icons with a dry navbar menu.

Navbar icons cant be seen on white background, contrast issues

Good amount of photography showing of their work, simplistic approach

Good match of typography which suits the barber shop theme together iwth a simplistic approach

All required info can be found on the home page. Prices should be listed below the cards.

Doubling information means that we could reduce the ammount of scrolling while still achieving the same result, blocky style makes website feel outdated. A little more seriosness would also be recomended.

None

Bad quality design, no CTA, contrast fails on navbar

Makeshift website makes shop feel untrustworthy

It may match the indendet audience since the prices are on par with the website, they empasise no booking needs and a 15 euro haircut

No CTA

Make our website NOT look like this

Has own booking subsite and sells products

Outdated design, missing pictures and icons

The content, especially the pictures and map match the style

Booking works well without overwhelming the customer with a plethora of choicec by letting them in one by one

There are shops that actually collect data and dont rely on third party websites to book

They also sell hair products

Advertises own barber school

Outdated design, too much text

Colors dont really hold up with teh barber shop image and pictures

Hero section with CTA changes to barber academy w/o arrows to make u go back

BOOKING

[Overview]

An animation crafted for a technology exhibition centered on the first half of the 20th century.

Rendered in black and white, the piece pays homage to the visual style of the era while showcasing a selection of vintage devices. Through minimalistic motion and thoughtful composition, the animation evokes the spirit of early innovation, inviting viewers to reflect on the roots of modern technology. The nostalgic atmosphere is enhanced by subtle details that mirror the aesthetics of historical footage, making it both informative and emotionally engaging.
